![]() ![]() I have started another RMA (former Disk 2) and should have that drive tomorrow. ![]() Storage & Snapshots is now showing the "consider replacing" message on Disks 1 & 3. The rebuild started and then was skipped several hours later. I then RMA'd that disk and received a replacement yesterday. I replaced Disk 4 and the rebuild completed. I was able to back up all my data and get an RMA on the on the original Disk 4. I can still access the folders so with 2 disk failures on the same RAID5 array I’m not sure what’s going on. The rebuild didn’t complete as before but now in Storage & Snapshots I’m showing the same error on Disk 2 and also on the brand-new Disk 4. The NAS asked me to check the file system which ended up failing as well and unmounted Data2. I replaced the faulty disk and the system started to rebuild as expected but after a few hours, I received these notifications: Looking at Disk Health, the message was "One or more unrecoverable read/write error have been detected. Originally, Disk 4 failed with this notification: Disk "EXDR#1: Disk 4" failed. Over the last couple of weeks, these drives have been dropping like flies and I've been attempting to get back up and running, bur I think I need some help. These disks have been installed for a about a month. RAID group 3 is disks 1-5 and RAID group 4 is disks 6-10. The REXP is set up as “Storage Pool 2” with Volume “Data2” and is split into 2 RAID 5 arrays. This is the unit I’m having trouble with. ![]() Attached to this is a 10-bay REXP-1000 Pro expansion unit with 10 x Seagate Exos 18TB SAS hard drives. My system is a QNAP TVS-871 with 8 x Seagate Exos 16TB SATA hard drives. To start, I know that RAID does not equal backup and thankfully this is just mostly my Plex server so in case everything is gone, it is irritating but not devastating. ![]() The question now is what is wrong and what to do about it. After 6+ years of flawless service, I’ve suffered a RAID array failure. Hello, well the inevitable finally happened. ![]()
